Train travel has its own level of romance. And if this travel is on hill routes, then even the most stoic person turns into a die-hard romantic. Most of us have experienced or atleast heard of the amazing experiences on the Darjeeling Hill Railway and the Kalka Shimla route. Now, a trip to the North East will couple this amazing experience along with the spectacular vistas that the region offers.

Travellers come to Tawang drawn primarily by the Tawang monastery. Built in the 17th century, this monastery is the largest Buddhist monastery in India. Tawang also has a very special significance as it is the birthplace of the 6th Dalai Lama. With a temperate climate, and just perfect weather for travelling, Tawang has gained popularity as one of the most visited places in the North East.
