Mussoorie is famous not only for its scenic beauty but it has also developed into an important centre of education and business. "The spectacular Gun Hill is among the most famous tourist attractions of Mussoorie. It is the second highest peak in the region after Lal Tibba. There is an interesting history that backs the popularity of the Gun Hill.

So we start our trip with George Everest.

George Everest House in Mussoorie. It was the home and laboratory of Sir George Everest. He was a Surveyor-General of India from 1830 to 1843. Sir George bought the Park Estate in Mussoorie located on the western edge of town in 1833 and lived here for almost a decade before retiring to England.
George Everest House is situated about 6 kms from Gandhi Chowk in Mussoorie and one of the major tourist attractions in Mussoorie which is secluded and peaceful. It offers spectacular views of the snow-clad Himalayan peaks and panoramic views of the Doon Valley.
