Blockbuster combo is the title given to this trip by HTC, one will agree with that after experiencing it.
Instead of usual Fridays, this trip started a day before. i.e Thursday night with a bunch of senior people with a junior lead. Pun intended, as the lead was youngest of our group…!
Everyone settled into their seats after a casual catchup, may be to save the energy for rest of the trip...
Pune Railway station welcomed us with a beautiful morning decorated with a clear sky. Boarded the tempo traveler, and had a hot VADA PAV with strong TEA enroute for breakfast. Halted at some place near Mulshi for lunch.
This place not only offered a simple lunch but also some scenic views… With tummy full of food and bottle full of water, we headed towards the starting point of Andharban trek.
Next 6 hours were filled with spectacular views, sassy conversations, shorter breaks and silly jokes…
The trail was breathtaking, but the next adventure started after sunset.
Kudos to all the new and experienced trekkers, we finished the trail by 8PM and headed to homestay for the dinner...
The night slipped away quickly with an unsuccessful campfire, and our next day routine started quite early around 3AM to start our trek to Devkund falls.
Around 2 hours of another adventurous trek, filled with flashy torch lights searching the trails, reached the not so humongous destination Devkund waterfalls.
Due to no recent rains, the water levels had reduced and all left was a small rivulet. However, the scenic beauty didn’t disappoint us. Water games, swimming lessons and slippery steps around the pond kept us engaged close to 2 hours.
Actual beauty of Devkund waterfalls trek was witnessed while returning back.
Reached homestay, packed our bags, had tummy full of breakfast and headed to our next stop MATHERAN…
Matheran welcomed us with drizzles, the scenic beauty made us try all the varieties of Vada pav, Samosa, Poha etc. The day ended with a delicious dinner specially prepared for us by the homestay, and with few rounds of UNO followed by Dumb Charades…
The toughest movie name in the game was Veera Bhoga Vasantha Rayalu…
Our last day started a little late compared to our past few days, we started our hike at 5AM to visit two beautiful viewpoints that MATHERAN had to offer us, One Tree Hill Point and Alexander Point.
Any trip to Maharashtra can never be complete without witnessing Shri Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj...
Bid adieus to Matheran and we reached our returning station LONAVLA with tasty Chikki and Fudge.
Our return train journey was more engaging with multiple of rounds UNO along with a special person from our group, who re-created yesterday’s Dumb Charades for another HTC gang… 😊😊
