Hollywood’s recent dark offering Joker has the world pitying and vouching for the legendary villain, thanks to Joaquin Phoenix’s brilliant performance. Being hailed as one of the most iconic movies of its time, Joker has now got a gift for Instagram photographers as well.

The staircase holds a metaphorical significance throughout the movie that reflects the protagonist’s deteriorating state of mind through his misadventures in life.
The degradation of society reflected through the downfall of Arthur Fleck, the protagonist, struck a chord with people and so did the grim locations where film was shot. His dance that follows in the footsteps of a decaying city went on to achieve cult status and the staircase has now developed a following of its own.
The steps are now being thronged by countless tourists every day, ever since the location of this scene was discovered. Apparently, the stairs connect Shakespeare and Anderson avenues at West 167th Street in the Bronx in New York City.
