When ever someone is searching about Uttarakhand, they look for Nainital, Mussoorie, Auli, Mukteshwar and all the major attractions. But you will be able to find more in Uttarakhand and you can be away from touristy places as well. Below are few peaceful, secluded holiday spots in Uttarakhand.

1) Chaukori

Chaukori, nestled 530 kms away from Delhi, is a well connected but underrated hill town. This town offers spectacular views of Nanda Devi, Nanda Kot and Panchachuli Peak. This place is surrounded by temples and some amazing view points which attracts tourists who wants a break from crowded Mussoorie and Nainital. When you visit Chaukori get early in the morning and witness a sunrise which you have never seen.

2) Naukuchiatal

Meaning of Naukuchiatal translate into nine cornered lake. The locals believe that someone who can see all the nine corners of the lake can reach nirvana. You can also visit this lake for boating and paragliding activities. Make sure you book hotel next to lake for one of the best views.

3) Khurpatal

At the altitude of 1635 meters from sea level, it is one of the best hidden place. This place is surrounded by pine and cedar trees with panoramic view of all the mountains. This place is just 15 kms from Nainital. This place is photogenic and also offers a forest walk all across the village.

4) Chopta

This place is also known as "Mini Switzerland" of India. Chota is also a starting point of Chandrashila Trek and Tungnath Trek. Many tourist hardly visit Chopta, mostly for the Tungnath Temple which is build for Lord Shiva. You can witness some amazing mountain ranges like Nanda Devi and Trishul. It's a perfect getaway for trekking enthusiast who can enjoy the lush green forests.

5) Sitlakhet

This is perfectly located in Kumaon Hills and close to Mukteshwar. Sitlakhet is famous for it's amazing homely homestays and seasoned fruit orchids. It has a significant spiritual importance since you can visit Jhula Devi temple and Syahi Devi temple. Don't forget to visit some near by fruits orchids and get some fresh fruits for yourselves.
