Most of us have already watched the 'Welcome' movie. We laughed out loud while watching the climax. That climax was shot on beautiful sunkissed hills, covering themselves in greenish brown sheets. Clear blue sky, reckless wind and falling waterfalls at every nook and corner of the mountains yelling, this is the place where nature lives. This is none other than, but the favourite town of Bollywood 'Lonavala' where Kareena missed her train and roamed with Shahid calling it as 'RATNAM KI GALIYAAN'.
Being a punekar, whenever I need peace, relief from daily life, Lonavala is first preference.
If you have to go Lonavala from Pune, you don't have to worry. Local trains are easily available from Pune station and one can check their running schedule from internet. It only cost RS.15 per person to go from Pune to Lonavala and vice-versa.
Train also has another advantage. you will land in middle of city where you can easily hire an autorickshaw to cover major points. They will charge you nearly RS. 600 to cover major points like tiger's point, lion's point, Sunil's wax museum and dam.
If you like maincourse food, then it would be a problem because as you move forward, you will only get fast food like coffee, tea, roasted corn and Maggy.
You can shop here candies and chikkies for which Lonavala is also famous for.
In short, for me it is a one day trip only where you can feel clouds and can appreciate how beautiful our nature is.
PS: No picture was available for Sunil's wax museum.
