Zoom in to see Elephants
Day 1

I was in Mysuru for a 5 days programme related to my job....it finished on Friday evening n as I couldn't go back to work on Saturday...I decided to stay back and give visit to some near by places...Nothing was planned as such, but I had heard a lot about this Hill-top Gopalaswamy Temple famously known as Himavad Gopalaswamy temple.

As I enquired more about it, I got to know that, it could be accessed only by a Govt. Bus from Mysuru, for that, I had to go to Gundlupete bus stop and then catch a bus to the Hills & I just followed the instructions and a reward was waiting for me...following pictures speak about the rewards I received

Since I had missed one bus to the Hill-top from Gundlupete, I was of the apprehension that, I would be late and will not be able to see the fog as it was nearing 10 AM. But to my surprise, immediately I got down from the Himavad-Giri Bus, I was welcomed by cool, sorry, very cool breeze and fog.

After few minutes of surprise, visited into the Gopalaswamy Temple and had Darshan of Lord Sri Krishna. The Murthi of Lord Sri Krishna as Gopalaswamy is so divine, he stands tall holding Govardhana Giri on one hand and playing Flute from the other hand....Hare Krishna🙏

I enjoyed this beautiful scenery for more than an hour, clicked as many pictures as possible, also got to see some wild elephants grazing from very long distance...

Since I had in my mind to visit Bandipura Tiger Reserve for Safari Ride, I headed back to Gundlupete as I needed to have something for my stomach also....

On the way down-hill also, the route is mesmerizing...

Even after going back to Gundlupete and then reaching Bandipura Tiger Reserve, I was very much early for the afternoon session of Safari.

I just sat there, waiting for the ticket counter to open, doing absolutely nothing. Then came, the Forest Department Elephants.

Somehow time passed and got the ticket to Safari - a seat beside the driver in front of the Bus

On the way, came across a lone tusker besides the road itself.

Then came the Safari Mud Road which took us into the forests

But to my disappointment, I could only spot some Spotted Deers, nothing else:(

Oh Deer, My Dear!!!

After the safari, I got a direct Bus to Mysuru from Bandipur itslef and like that, my one day trip got ended.

I had to stay in Mysuru that day, so I searched for some for some dormitory accommodation. I got the modest accommodation for affordable price in International Youth Hostel Mysuru...
