Road trips should be random as it ignites the thrill of getting into an unknown and coming out with experiences which you can share with everyone. For me, even a small cup of tea can initiate a "short" road trip which can be from 1km to 100(s) of kms. Me and my buddy along with his wife (she is getting used to random road trip ideas) just wrapped up our things to do for the day and headed "North"
We just started from our home location in the morning and without any destination in mind, headed towards the Mumbai - Nashik highway (please be aware as of 12th Oct 24 the road construction on this highway is causing slow movement and also you will get diversions at many places, unless you are used to driving for long time, avoid the road for sometime unless its urgent) & after a drive of 2 hrs we stopped at the FoodHub on the road side towards Nashik. Had our quick "Chai" & "Sutta" break, trust me there is no tea better than tapri ki chai
Since our tea was done, we were in two minds on possibility of going back home due to road conditions or going ahead and enjoying the drive. "Going ahead" rang in everybody's mind and heart and with a broad smile all sat in the car (as if we everyone knew we are going ahead only)
Panchvati is the place we headed to first, and what an amazing sight (as always) this place beholds. Spirituality all around, place still needs to be kept clean and avoid going to the ghats with footwear on, or use the ghat water for cleaning clothes or cars should be a strict no (depends on temple authorities and government to control this)
Temples around Panchvati are really old and they need to be maintained. Government should be investing more in maintaining these temples of historic importance as temple funds are in government control
The name Tapovan translates to "forest of penance or meditation". The word tapovana comes from the Sanskrit words tapas, which means "penance" or "spiritual practice", and vana, which means "forest". What a place to get Bhagwan Ram statue installed. Tapovan, Nashik holds huge significance in our dharma and its close to Panchvati where mata sita and Bhagwan Lakshman stayed. Maharashtra government has been kind enough to get the 70 foot tall statue of Bhagwan Ram installed in Tapovan. The installation is huge and really beautifully carved out.
We headed to Tapovan where we could visit the newly inaugurated 70 foot tall Bhagwan Ram statue
The statue was unveiled by ISKCON's Gaurang Das Prabhu and renowned economist Dr Vinayak Govilkar in Ramsrushti Garden in Tapovan in the city's Panchavati area. Bhagwan Ram is believed to have spent a considerable part of his 14-year exile in Tapovan.
Food: There are basic eateries around the park
Washroom: There is a washroom for both men and women outside the park
Parking: There is "free" parking outside the park
Entry fees: Free as its a public park from morning 6:00 to 20:30 IST
Camera / Video: No fees for now on Video shooting or Drone shoots
Bharat is a land of spiritual awakening and a land of mystique. One lifetime is not enough to cover the length and breath of this beautiful land. Ramayana is one epic around which our Dharma revolves and the learnings we get from this epic can be followed by every individual. Bhagwan Ram is not just an idol, he is an inspiration for millions.
It was worth the drive and visit to this place. My recommendation is to definitely visit this place and take the darshan.
Note: Please maintain the sanity of this park and make sure while visiting the statue footwear is removed at the start of steps. Garbage cans are available to put the trash, do not litter
The park is still being renovated, so bear with the development
Definitely a must visit
