Nobles were the governors who with their financial, political and military powers used to control and revenue and the military of the kingdom. The Mughal emperors used to choose only those people as their nobles who are intelligent , have the ability to take responsibility and can be trusted enough to share the inside information of the kingdom. The Mughal nobility contained various groups with the limelight taken by Irani, Turani , Hindustani Rajputs and Indian Muslims.
Isa Khan Niazi was an Afghan Nobel who served Lodhi's and was placed in the courts of Sher Shah Suri. During the time when Lodhis completely dominated India, the duo of Khan brothers was having a golden time being prominent members of the ruling family. Isa Khan was in the same tribal unit of nobles as Ibrahim Lodhi, Sher Shah Suri. Most of these families were attached to the Delhi sultanate.

The octagonal mausoleum is located on the right side as you enter the main complex of HUMAYUN'S Tomb. Built in 1547, in the Lodhi architectural style, with grey quartzite and red sandstone, the mausoleum houses the tomb of Isa Khan Niazi
The mosque of Isa Khan is located on the west side of the mausoleum. This site has also been marked as the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Humayun's tomb complex. An inscription states that its construction took place between 1547-1548 AD and it is known as the 'Asylum of Paradise' built during the reign of Sher Shah.
The tomb of Isa Khan is surrounded by a wide verandah, and has a dedicated approach path with a flight of stairs. The square head doorway of the gate chamber has been built in Hindu architectural style.
Each of the eight sides of the Mausoleum consists of triple arched entrances, decorated with blue, yellow and green glazed tiles. Each corner of the octagon is marked with tapered pillars rising above the roof to make it appear like a minaret.
There are six graves inside this octagonal monument and it can be said that the biggest one must be that of Isa Khan. The names of the other five are also unknown.
