Day 1

Devkund waterfalls is located in Bhira , Raigad district and is approx 1o0kms from Pune. The 3hr trek from base village is of moderate level and is an experience in itself as you wade your way through forest and small streams. It is a 75ft plunge waterfalls and the point is believed to be the origin spot of Kundalika river. One can experience lush green forests , mighty mountains and beautiful river stream all in this one trip .

Best time to visit :  Immediately post monsoon or towards the end of monsoon as one can find abundant water in the waterfall. Kindly avoid during July or early august as monsoons are quite turbulent in this region at this time.
Route to take :  If you are travelling from pune, take the tahmini ghat road and thanks to google maps one can easily reach the starting point of trek .
I visited during second week of October 2019 as last year the rains continued till end of September and was lucky enough to find waterfall still in its glory and a good number of enthusiastic visitors.
PS: There are few eateries at the base point of trekking,  but no food stall near the waterfall. So keep some snacks and enough water for the trek and one can replenish at base village post returning from the trek.
