We left Ambala at around 9 am. Our next destination was Naddi, a small village in Dharamshala. Distance from Ambala was approximately 278 km , since we were supposed to travel in hills total time was showing as 7 hrs.
On our way we saw a sign board "badala Naya Shahar" and apperently it's a name of a village.
We had our lunch at roadside Dhaba.
On our way to Hoshiarpur , we passed by "Nangal dam" which is second tallest dam of Asia. It's on Sutlaj river.
This entire region on India is very fertile and also grain belt.We were going very slow, enjoying greenary and playing antakshari and Sushrut exclaimed "see those snow mountains", we were very very close to Dhauladhar Ranges and view was mesmerizing.
We booked Airbnb which was few kms away from Mcleodganj. We reached by 4 pm and our host Mr. Sushil welcomed us with ginger tea. We fall in love with property.
Kids were on cloud 9 seeing this property and started roaming here and there. owner suggested us to visit Sunset point at Naddi and dinner at Mcleodganj.
As sun was going down , temperature was also going down and hunger pangs were increasing so we headed to Mcleodganj Square where all good restaurants are available. We wanted to try "Kalimpong"which is famous for its Tibetan cuisine but they were closed. Later we got to know Tibetan do not eat meat on Wednesday hence the restaurant was closed. We tried "Tibet Kitchen"which was okiesh. We ordered Thukpa and momos
Post this early dinner we were craving for dessert. I remembered reading about "Bhagsu cake" luckily we got it in one shop. After sweet treat and seeing the market (and me doing a mental note in shopping list) we headed back to our cottage.
That place has some magic , we were tired but still we were very energetic including kids so we decided to play board game. Owner suggested us to try local wine made from Apricot. It didn't taste like wine at all though. This is how our game and fun filled night looked like.
