Traveling can be an adventure full of surprises, and that was certainly the case of this Blursed trip to Thailand.

This trip was supposed to happen on 3' Feb 23 but due to a demise in the family had to reschedule to 3'Mar 23. So the cost of the flight tickets initially was ₹27054 i.e. Mumbai to Bangkok ₹15955 and Phuket to Mumbai ₹15099. But reschedule had it's charges so the final flight ticket price was ₹31785 splitting from Mumbai to Bangkok ₹15987 and Phuket to Mumbai ₹15798.

The flight was Go First G8-25 at 05:15am IST. And boarding was done by 4:30am IST. It's better to reach 4 hours early since the Mumbai airport is the busiest and can add into delay.

The flight to Suvarnabhumi Airport at 11:30 am GTM +7. If you think the Mumbai airport was huddled then Suvarnabhumi didn't disappoint. It was jam packed with people from various countries. Mostly Russians, Chinese and of course Indians. As soon as you reach the airport there are 2 pathways one for the people with a visa and people who apply for a visa on arrival. Find the category you belong to and for people with a visa on arrival you need to fill up a form with a picture of you. There will be a guard to staple the picture to the form.

The visa costs 2200 Bhat. And the process is quite quick. You have to be ready with a passport, boarding pass and the form.

Now the immigration, that was quick too just all fingerprints in and look at the camera plz.. and that's it . The bags can be collected from the conveyor belt after immigration is done.

Now you don't have to do this but I had booked a sim card from Klook for ₹497. And the klook counter was at the 4th floor i just had to show the QR code and they installed the sim into my phone. Within 2 mins i had internet access.

Next stop reaching the hostel!! Google maps can be really helpful to locate your destination and the metro that you can take. The metro station was on the B1 floor. I took a ticket to Phaya thai which costed me 45 bhat. The metro destination was just 1 km from the hostel. You can take a cab or tuk tuk. I preferred walking. And got a snack from 7 eleven. Salmon onigiri, gimpap and honey water cost me 83Bhat and those were delicious lunch for me. Reached Timber Hostel in 10 mins while booking i had paid $6 for 4 days and had to pay rest of the TBH 1304 which had a deposit for the keycard. It was a bunk bed with a small tray to keep a mobile phone and a charging station, reading light and a towel.

Once I settled all my luggage under the bed and freshened up. I came down to ask the host regarding things I could do nearby. She suggested the market which was nearby.

It was fun to walk by. It's best to get something to drink to cut the humid heat, I got a coconut smoothie for myself for TBH 55. It was yummy and very light sweet and ice cold. Also while in the market i got myself a few snacks. A pork sausage wrap for TBH 10, pork balls TBH 20. And while returning back to the hostel i found the famous Mango sticky rice!! It was for TBH 40.

So overall half a day in Thailand cost me TBH 208 on food and it was all amazing.

If you are planning to go to Thailand you must read this blog and soon will be posting my rest of the experience and the struggles that i faced in the remaining trip. So stay tuned.
