Coorg famously known as "Scotland of India" truly defines it's tag with lush greenery, waterfalls and mesmerizing views of mountains covered with clouds. A perfect weekend getaway from Bangalore for travelers and explorers. We started our trip on Saturday morning via car taking mysore highway road to Madikeri. I would suggest to book your stay using Airbnb as they some amazing homestays in budget. On the way we came across a restaurant Kamat on Mysore-road which serves you the best South Indian cuisine. Suggestion is to try Idili baked and wrapped in Banana leaves: delicious and photogenic too. :p
It took almost 5 hours for us to reach our homestay, still the journey was not at all tiring as the road and scenic beauty outside was so amazing and mesmerizing that we were rather feeling more relaxed. As they say that sometimes journey is more beautiful then the destination, I cannot say about the destination yet but would definitely say that journey leading to destination is worth every second. After some time we headed towards abbey falls i.e. the beautiful waterfall followed by raja's seat and fort.
We enjoyed every single place views which were visual treat to our eyes. Then headed back to our homestay day ended with the dinner ordered from swiggy and wine.
Next day we planned to cover the Mandalpatti mountains and Dubare elephant camp. We did Safari to reach the peak, mountains covered with clouds will make you feel blissed out. Sensitive to cold I came back sneezing!! At Dubare elephant camp you will get a chance to see elephants bathing and even you may feed them by yourself. Rafting was also option to cover but we ran out of time for doing so.
On the way back, we stopped at spot to cover some water sports at Coorg Adventure park where you can experience boating, kayaking, ride a jet ski, bull ride and other adventurous sports with your friends.
