1.) Visapur Fort
How to Reach :
By Train = There are local trains after every hour from Pune Station to Malavli Station (Fare - Around Rs.20, return fare)
By Road = Around 70kms from Pune via Old Mumbai - Pune Expressway
Best Season to Visit = Monsoon
Level of Difficulty = Moderate
Eateries are available only at the starting point of trek, it is advisable to carry enough food and water. If you are travelling by train, it is very much economical, but on has to walk around 5kms from station to the point where the trek actually starts. Not much difficult trek, but the route gets slippery during rainy season. Enough signs are provided on the trek route so that one does not get lost. Once you get to the top, you realize that the fort is quite large in area. Not much to see in the fort, but the view from every corner of the fort is just amazing.

2.) Lohagad Fort
How to Reach :
By Train = There are local trains after every hour from Pune Station to Malavli Station (Fare - Around Rs.20, return fare)
By Road = Around 72kms from Pune via Old Mumbai - Pune Expressway
Best Season to Visit = Monsoon
Level of Difficulty = Moderate
Almost 90% of the trek route has proper well-maintained historical stairs. Even the walls, couple of rooms and watch-towers are in good condition. Ample food and water stalls are available on the way.

3.) Korigad Fort
How to Reach :
By Train = There are local trains after every hour from Pune Station to Lonavala Station (Fare - Around Rs.20, return fare)
By Road = Around 100kms from Pune via Old Mumbai - Pune Expressway
Best Season to Visit = Monsoon
Level of Difficulty = Easy/Moderate
80% of route has proper stairs which are easy to climb and the remaining 20% is a bit of trekking. One has to take care of direction a because finding the route is a bit tricky. the walls of the fort are well maintained and there is nothing much to see other than the view from the top. You can even spot the runway of Aamby Valley from one of the corners of fort. There is only one eatery available at starting point.

4.) Tikona Fort
How to Reach :
By Road = Around 50kms from Pune via Paud Road(Tamhini Ghat Road)
Best Season to Visit = Monsoon
Level of Difficulty = Moderate
During Monsoon, the trek does get a bit tricky. the fort walls and watch-towers are fairly maintained. Couple of eateries are available on the way to top. Proper car parking is also there at starting point.

5.) Sudhagad Fort
How to Reach :
By Road = Around 130kms from Pune via Old Mumbai-Goa Highway
Best Season to Visit = Monsoon
Level of Difficulty = Moderate
Finding the starting point of trek is a bit difficult, do take help of locals around there. The trek is quite difficult, but once you reach to the top, the view is quite astonishing. The fort is fairly maintained and not much to see around. Eateries are not available around there, so do stock the supplies before hand.
