Trance and travel, food and floyd.
Though the tour was from one of the official travels, it was perfect weekend gateway for me at that time. It began with the perfect dose of trance music throughout the travel, thanks to Above & Beyond.
Hotel Saravana Bhavan for the best vegetable thali in the whole of Kochi. The Hotel is always packed with local workers. For less than 80 rupees they’ll serve your meal on an banana leaf and keep re-filling it until you burst.
Podi dosa? Well this place will confuse you enough with long names of dosas they serve there. If there is a paradise of Dosas it will be the Pai Brothers Fast Food Centre. It is no exaggeration to call them a paradise as they have more than 100 varieties of delicious dosas in their menu.
Was here specially for their fresh fruit juices which are really healthy and tasty at the same time. loved the sandwiches with a generous dripping of cheese that they serve here.
Fort Kochi (Cochin) is an island of slowly disintegrating stone walls, crumbling shopfronts and well-tended churches, where every turn takes you down some new gloriously picturesque, narrow winding street. Chinese fishing nets was surely over hyped place to visit but worth a while for foodies if they want to taste the fish caught in front of them only.
Marine Drive A stroll along the long tree-lined coastal pathway that lines the backwater is well worth the time spent, especially late afternoon or dusk. The bustling backwaters, dotted with fishing boats, speedboats, ships, tankers and passenger boats, can be observed from this walkway that lines the coast.
Centre of the Kochi spice trade. Scores of small firms huddle together in old, dilapidated buildings and the air is filled with the biting aromas of ginger, cardamom, cumin, turmeric and cloves.
