Tsomgo lake (locally known as by name of Changu lake ) is located 40KM far from the main city of Gangtok. To reach Changu lake, you have to book a one day tour with a local tour agency. Charges of this trip may vary from Rs1200-2500 depending on the tourist season and your bargaining skills. There are many travel agency shops at Mall road of Gangtok ( centre area of Gangtok). Peak tourist season in Gangtok is May-October like every other hill station. But best is go in March or April as at that time crowd will be less so you can enjoy everything at low cost and with more comfort.
