Tiger's Nest which is also known as Paro Taktsang is a jewels of bhutanese tourism and is considered as country's most iconic landmarks where it's sacred monasteries is situated on the cliffside of 900 metres above the paro valley that creates an awe-inspiring sight that captures the imagination of all who visit this iconic landmarks. It was built in 1692 around the cave where Guru Padmasambhava who's also known as Guru Rinpoche did a meditation in the 8th century. Guru Rinpoche is said to bring buddhism to bhutan where legends holds that he flew to this location on the back of a tigress that's why it's named as "Tiger's Nest." It's a pilgrimage site for buddhists who holds deep spiritual significance, representing the triumph of buddhism in the region. The hike starts from the valley floor and ascends through a beautiful forest of blue pines and rhododendrons that leads to tiger nests in bhutan where the trail is marked but it's well steeped and it takes around two-three hours to reach the monastery.
