Uyire uyire song from bombay is an evergreen hit that we hear even nowadays.watching the song will give u a good glimpse of the fort.the largest fort in kerala spreading across 40 acres is a visual experience.me and my friends went there one afternoon.there is lot to walk,so better go prepared.bekkal fort has many small forts inside it.there are beautifully trained plants.there is a passage from the fort leading to a pathway which can be enjoyed as a evening walk.many beautiful scenes can be captured from there.this way also leads to a small fort which looks like an extension of the whole fort.every small extensions give us a soothing feel by the warm breeze of sea.there is small stalls put up by localities which provide us refreshing options.the best time to visit is 4 @evening.that time is appropriate for the sunset view.inside the fort there is a set of steps which leads to a well.there is a house located nearly at the opposite of the entrance which is a good place for taking rest and the wind gives a kind of meditation.the sea with all its royal attire can be seen from all the small forts there.in one of the small fort there is a opening through which sea van be seen.the scenery from there is mesmerizing.the fort is kind of well maintained.to reach the fort by bus,we have to walk a little.the bus stops near the arc of the temple situated in the fort.the arc form the entrance of the way to fort.fort opens @8 in morning and closes by 6.there is a temple as a part of the fort itself.temple has a collection of beautiful sculptures.
