Day 1

On 19th August we leaved Sunshine hotel, Mysore at 11 AM for Ooty. After crossing Bandipur forest, at entry point of Mudumalai, Tamilnadu we faced difficulty as we don't have epass. As no one has range to mobiles for submitting epass application online, we called Shivani, my sister to Pune and asked her to apply online. She did it and then sent us a pdf file of epass, after showing epass, the Officer's on border allowed us entry in Tamilnadu. But for all this procedure we had to waste 2 hours. Then we reached at Pearl Resorts from where Ooty is 12 km away. But as we liked resort, view and cottages over there, we decided to stay for 4-5 days.

Ooty is a popular hill station located in the Nilgiri hills. It is called as Queen of Western Ghats. Its natural environment always attracts tourists.

On 20th August we didn't go anywhere, just we had a walk @ 3 km to the hill and enjoyed foggy weather.

On 21st August 2021 in the morning at 9 we went 12 Km up to Ooty.. Due to lockdown everything is closed but we enjoyed horse riding near the Ooty lake and enjoyed view of Misty morning, took photographs and returned to Pearl Resort and rested.

Ooty lake is an artificial lake also called as ooty boat house constructed in 1824. The water flowing down mountain streams in the Ooty valley was dammed to form the lake. It is located 1 km from ooty bus stand. It covers an area of 65 acres.[2There is boating facility to tourists and is a major tourist attraction in Ooty.

The Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation on behalf of the Tourism Department took the possession of the lake in 1973, for providing boating facilities as a tourist attraction.[2

The entry fee for the lake is Rs. 30/- and boating for 4 people is Rs. 260/-

The lake is surrounded by groves of Eucalyptus trees with a railway line running along one shore.[

As there is lockdown we didn't go anywhere on 22nd August 2021.

On 23 August 2021 in the morning we came to know that from today everything is opened.

So at 11 AM we went to Botanical Garden. The Botanical Garden is situated on the slopes of hill with an elevation of 2250-2500 meters above sea level, near Coimbatore, developed in 1848.[The Garden is divided into several sections, cover an area of around 55 hectares, and lie on the lower slopes of Dodabetta peak.[ The garden has a terraced layout. It is excellently maintained by the Tamilnadu Horticulture Department.[5]

The garden is a good place for nature lovers. It is a lovely huge garden and you can spend a good time with your family. It is no doubt a beautiful place and famous tourist spot and worth the money.

Entry fee is Rs. 50/- for camera fee is 100/- and parking for 4 wheeler is Rs.50/- we spent 3 hours in seeing the beautiful garden then had lunch and went to Rose Garden. It is just 2 km away from Botanical Garden where parking and entry fee each Rs 40/-

Rose Garden is located in the heart of Ooty is one of the largest rose gardens in India and also a tourist attraction for those who are interested in horticulture.. The beautiful garden is spread across 10 acres of land and has been beautifully laid out in 5 terraces in which you can see variety of roses planted e.g. miniature roses, hybrid tea roses, floribunda, ramblers, black and green roses and many other. The Rose Garden is obviously a delightful treat for the eyes.

But if you don't have time and visited Botanical Garden, you can skip Rose Garden.

At 6 PM we came back to Pearl Resort.
