In Local Language, the Hill is noted as “Tekri” and is belived to be Holy Divine with Temples dedicated to Maa Chamunda and Tulja Bhawani Maa, built here. At the Times of British, Dewas was the Metropolis of Two Princely states; Senior Dewas & Junior Dewas.

PLACES TO VISIT

1. DEWAS TEKRI

With an Altitude of more than 350 feet above the ground level, Dewas Tekri is situated at A.B. Road in the midpoint of the Town. The Cone-Shaped Hill is quite famed for being Home to the Holy Venerated Temples of Chamunda Mata, Devi Tulja Bhawani and Kalika Mataji. Devotees have to trek approximately 500 broad flight of stone steps or walk through a slope way or can go by Rope way, as it is a newly launched. The devotees can opt for any way to pay their respect to these Goddess.

To Witness the Panoramic View of the Entire Town of Dewas from the Top of the Hill. Travellers who aren’t prone to make the hard uphill trek can go for 400 meters long ropeway to reach the top. 2. PANWAR CHATTRIS

The Panwar Chattris of Dewas situated close to Meetha Talab, are eternal badge of Maratha Architecture. Their influential existence is a live statement of the Imperial. 3. MAHADEV TEMPLE

This temple was constructed by Dewas Emperor, Shrimant Sadashiv Rao Maharaja, in the year 1942. Sited in Shankar Garh, on the uphill. It is considered that a great number of Hindu Holu Saints resides here and convey their religious teachings to the citizens of the town. Today, the Mahadev Temple is a Must Visit Spot in Dewas.

4. KELADEVI TEMPLE

The Kela Devi Temple (or Kaila Devi Temple) in Dewas is the biggest Kela Devi Temple in Madhya Pradesh. It was constructed in 1995 by South Indian Craftsmen. The temple has a 51 ft. Statue of Lord Hanuman Ji. Annually, amid the Chaitra Navratri, the fair is held to Magnetize followers from all over the India. One of the Prime Attractive Feature is a White Marble Entrance Gate that Beautifies and Garnish the Temple.

The Primary Temple of Maa Kela Devi ji is sited in the Districts of Karauli of Rajasthan, constructed on the Banks of Kalisil River. The Temple is devoted to the Guardian almighty, Goddess Kela Devi Maa of the Former Princely Yaduwanshi rules of the Karauli.

5. MAHANKALESHWAR BILAWALI TEMPLE

Located around 5 kms North of Dewas, the Mahankaleshwar Temple in the Village Bilawali is another Prime Attraction for the Voyagers. It is considered that the Size of the Shiva linga increases every year, in this temple. At the times of Maha Shivaratri, a Massive Fair is organized annually, where thousands of devotees visits the temple.
