Beauty of Mighty Harischandra Gad

Kokankada via Nalichi Vaat was my dream since last 2 years and the day when I got chance to climb Harischandra Gad was really dream come true moment.
Harischandra Gad via Nalichi vaat is 3rd most difficult trek in sahyadri range.

Harishchandragad is one of the most sought-after fort among the trekkers, due to its challenging routes and mostly for the mighty Konkankada. We had studied various routes (4-5 routes) which can be trekked to reach the Harishchandragad and in unison we opt for Nalichi vat..Truely endurance testing trek!!!

History of Harishchandragad can be traced back to ancient times. Many dynasties ruled over this vast fort. In the mid 1700's , Maratha's captured this fort from Mogal warriors.

We started our trek from base village at 8 am and reached kokankada at 4 pm. the Journey of this 8 hours was really endurance testing yet memorable. climbing those huge rocks with 3 difficult patches where we had to tie ropes that too with carrying 7 kg bag was tough challenge.

Finally when we reached at kokankada and saw the view from top, we felt that tough journey was really worth. We spent some time to see the Konkankada. Monstrous beauty in every sense!!!

Sunset from Kokankada is a heavenly view and you can never experience that beauty anywhere else.

We stayed in tents and had a great time on fort. Night masti, dance, ghost stories and peaceful sleep ended a day.
Next day early morning we started our descent trek and reached base village after 3 hours. 

Memorable trek with lots  of memories.
