Aamby Valley had been on my list for the longest time. This August I was free for a few days and it was the perfect weather to visit this planned city near Lonavla.
P.S. You cannot enter the campus of Aamby Valley City if you don’t have a booking with them.
DAY1
Pune to Aamby Valley:
From Pune, the Aamby Valley City is around 70kms. After leaving the Pune-Mumbai expressway as went beyond Lonavla towards Aamby Valley it took us through a beautiful road with dense fog and trees on both sides.
As you reach Aamby Valley it feels like you have entered a different world altogether, such is the beauty of this place.
We had a booking in the Aamby Valley Hotel. While checking in you have to leave your private vehicle at the reception until you checkout, the hotel cars will be at you service whenever and wherever you want to go within the campus. The facility is excellent, they provided us a Mercedes to commute within the city which was flattering.
The Room:
The Aussie Room that we had booked was beautiful, the décor caught my attention at the very first glance as I love wooden interiors.
Time for Pool and Jaccuzzi:
The pool was just a 30seconds walk from the room. We checked-in and went to the pool, it had started drizzling, we were the only ones in the pool enjoying our private pool time, and once it started raining heavily we shifted to a jacuzzi by the pool. The luxuries had just begun.
Lunch at Woodpecker:
The Woodpecker has magnificent ambiance, its huge and the decor is eye-catching. The food quality is extraordinary, everything we had was delicious.
Water-Sports:
We went for water sports but due to harsh weather and lake-water levels the activities were closed. The water-sports they offer are: Jet Ski, Kayaking, AquaBus, Waterfall Safari Etc.
Fountain Show
In the evening, we went back to the Woodpecker for coffee.
And then it was time for Fountain show, we went down to the lake with the fountains and though I hardly saw any people around Aamby valley throughout the day, the lake-front quickly got crowded for the fountain show. I was very excited for this because it's one of the main attraction of Aamby Valley staycation.
The fountain show was a larger than life experience. I was stunned by the beauty of the fountains, the lights and the music. It had made my night.
Here’s the video:
Dinner:
For dinner we chose Mabruk the Mediterranean Cuisine Restaurant with elegant ambiance. We had a authentic Mediterranean dinner, it was an interesting dinning experience.
Day 2
Breakfast:
We had a Grand Breakfast Buffet at the Woodpecker.
Waterfall Safari:
As all the other activities were shut, we decided to go ahead with WaterFall Safari. We took a speed boat to the location. Over a waterfall they have built steps and ladder to control the waterflow, which allows you to hike to the top of the waterfall.
Lunch in the Woods:
There is a restaurant called Cove in the forest, which has limited items on the menu, enough to satisfy your hunger after the tiring waterfall safari.
After waterfall safari we checked out of the hotel and took our car and explored other parts of the city. The landscape kept getting more enchanting as we proceeded.
Overall it was an extravagant staycation!
