Gauhati to Bagdogra by air (1 hour) and overnight stay at Naxalbari, most of the hotels nearby were full so ended up booking a homestay on Airbnb which was about 15 km away from the airport.
Naxalbari to Nepal Border by cab (45 minutes)
As It takes only 45 minutes from Bagdogra airport to Nepal border, you can continue your travel if you arrive early in Bagdogra.
After crossing Nepal border we arrived at kakarbhitta
and had our complete itinerary planned through a travel agency. They also helped us with currency exchange and provided us with a SIM card.
We left for Kathmandu at 5 PM by bus(12 hour journey)

Best place in Kathmandu for shoppers and the perfect place to buy souvenirs. It's one of the busiest place in KTM. You can find many eateries that serve Nepalese and international dishes. It's the city’s main nightlife.

Entry fee - Nepali 500 per person
I hired a local guide there to give us a tour as it was a pretty big place and I'm really glad I did. Only because of the guide we had a great time there. He shared the history behind all the monuments and it was actually quite interesting.
Kathmandu to Pokhara by tourist bus (approx 5/6 hours journey)
For nature lovers Pokhara is no less than a Paradise. I did enjoy my stay in Kathmandu but Pokhara was something else. The lakeside area is completely pollution free, peaceful and breathtakingly beautiful.
Morning - Ultralight flight (16000 NPR for the 30 minutes flight)
Evening - Pokhara to Kakarbhitta by tourist bus.
Kakarbhitta to Bagdogra by cab and Bagdogra airport to Gauhati by air

Few things that might come in handy:
* To convert INR to NPR divide INR by 1.6 and multiply NPR with 1.6 to convert it to INR
*Everytime you withdraw cash from an ATM, it charges 500 NPR (Applicable to almost all the banks)
* You probably won't be able to book domestic flights using Indian debit/credit card (not 100% sure but all of my cards were declined)
