Kasol is a small village in Himachal Pradesh, near to Kullu. It is also known as Mini Israel due to the fact that Israelis covering the area, food culture of the place is similar to Israel, also signboards in Hebrew. It has beautiful scenic beauty and river Parvati flowing sideways. Kasol is one of the favorite destination for travelers around the world.
There are multiple options available for trekking around Kasol, which is, the famous Malana village, Tosh, Chalal, Buddhaban, Kutla Glacier, Rudranag, Kheerganga, Sar Pass Trek.
How to reach:-
One has to reach Delhi or Chandigarh first (if you are travelling from different state). Delhi is easily accessible by flight, rail and roads.
There is no direct train or flight available to reach Kasol. However, one can combine bus/train or flight/bus as per convince.
Bus: Best means of transport for Himachal Pradesh. (Delhi-Kasol,Manali,Spiti it will cost around 800 to 2000 depends on Lux).Reach ISBT Kashmere Gate (in New Delhi), book a Volvo from Himachal Road Transport Corporation Buses operate to Bhuntar (mostly bus ply during night) and will take 12-15hours.
Flight & Bus - Nearest airport to Kasol is Kullu Manali Airport also known as Bhuntar Airport. From there one can book a cab or a taxi to go to Kasol which is 31 km and will take about 1 hour to reach.
Reach Kasol in the morning around 8am (saw beautiful sunrise on the way), reached my Hotel in Kasol, freshen up, had breakfast, rested for a while and got ready for our local Chalal trek .
It was a chill morning out there when we arrived Kasol which is around 5km from Manikaran. We were freezing in that lower temperature but somehow warmed up ourselves within few minutes. We first decided to head towards our stay so that we could first freshen up and follow the rest plan And take breakfast.
Chalal village was about 10- 20 minutes walk from the Kasol town where u have to cross a bridge over the Soothing, peacefull Parvati River and trek along the edges of the beautiful Parvati Valley.
Sceneic View: Shielded by majestic pines, soothened by the Parvati river and above all the snowcapped Himalayan view drives you lustful to nature while walking through the trails of Parvati valley towards the Chalal village.
So the 1st day we finish like this we back to hotel its -15 degree in nights and we are preparing for the next day Rudranag Trek.
DAY-2
Kheerganga stands at 9700 feet and trek can be taken through two routes – Rurdanag and Kalga – Pulga. Both these routes divert from Barshaini. Rudranag route is exciting and difficult while Kalga route is more flat, without trees, and more cafes, and resting places. Total trek distance is 14-16km. So we are taking Rudranag Routes for our adventure journey.
We started around 8:00-9:00 took a car to Barshaini and started our trek from there. On the way we can across to many waterfalls and bridges and amazing scenaric view of mountains on one side and a narrow steps to wallk along with streams/waterfalls and Parvati river on the other side. The greenery along the way is worth the walk.
DAY-3
Manikaran
After DAY 2 now we decided to move towards Manikaran,so we walked backed to Barshaini from Rudranaag and we were lucky that our trek camp gives good and tasty breakfast in the morning tea and biscuits and parathas with bhaji . so from Rudranaag we boarded a cab to Manikaran and reached Manikaran after 30 minutes. What I saw made me speechless because it was my first time experience where I witnessed the natural Hot spring and it's completely turning the Gurudwara into a mystical and divine place.Manikaran Gurudwara is a must visit spot and don't forget to add this in your trip to Kasol.A lot many foreigners were roaming around the town where most of them were completely astonished by the view of divine Gurudwara amidst past the Hotspring pool.
Now we back to Kasol to get our luggage from the hotel luggage room and we head to Manali via car its a 3-4 journey from Kasol with scenic view of Himachal.
we reached manali in the evening near about 5pm so we take Rest in Hotel with beautiful views and tasty dinner.
The trek actually starts from Vashist temple – you can take any public auto to reach there or you can walk like me. From the Vashist temple, any local can point you the direction of the trek. The trek starts with some easy steps going through a small village with rooms on either side. You can find hidden tattoo houses and yoga centres. One can easily find red arrow marks on billboards directing towards the waterfall. As I moved forward, the houses vanished and there is alpine forest on one side and Beas river flowing with backdrop of hills on the other. You can also notice zip lining spots there.
Once I start climbing through the rocky terrain with bushes around, I found that there is no trail as I have seen previously. You have to climb rocks , balance yourself through very narrow passages with gorge on one side and of course the beautiful waterfall on another. I faced breathlessness after an hour of uphill trek and thus rested. But I started soon as I remembered I have to get down as well. After reaching close to the waterfall, one can feel the mist and the water splashing on the rocks.
Mall Road has a number of showrooms, department stores, shops, restaurants and cafes. A Himachal emporium that offers handicraft products of Himachal Pradesh like locally designed woolen clothes, branded clothes, pottery items, wooden products, and jewellery is also located here.
SO HERE THE END OF THIS TRIP.
THANKYOU....
