Day 1

After having suffered with pulmonary tuberculosis for 2 full month's, my parents wanted to take me off for a vacation. Ours was not a family that made travel feature in its top priorities in life back then. I was 24 & we had traveled to 2-3 places only for a holiday in these 2 decades of my sane existence. So a lot of research, planning & courage led to booking those train tickets from Kolkata to Siliguri & Sikkim happened. As our car drove past the plains & started climbing uphill, I could literally hear my heart skip a beat. That was my first rendezvous with mountains & I was taken for life in that very moment when each turn in the road was opening like a new panoramic page of this fascinating book. The next 8 days, I was in travel coma.....like literally. The pure cold breeze, the theatrics of the clouds, the magical sunrises, the glistening peaks, the innocence of the locals, the divine taste in the simplest of foods, the earth-shattering cute dogs & an unadulterated life full of content that is only possible if you are so close to nature.
Mountains healed my body & soul in those 8 days & life has been different eversince that 1st Sikkim trip.
Now I travel to reflect, rejuvenate and relive. A travel bug for life🤗... travelling indeed is a way of life.
