A road trip around Yercaud

Yercaud is the hill station located near Salem, TN state, India. Approximately 200km from Bengaluru is the perfect destination for a short trip with family & Friends...

We ( me & wife) started our journey from Bengaluru early morning 6:00AM to Yelagiri ( hill station ) in car.
After finishing break fast visited main attraction at Yelagiri Lake... Boat riding was very calm & less crowded (50/person). We took peddle boat for 200/- (4 seater)
There shall a small garden & can spend some time...

Yercaud:
Next designation Yercaud where we booked our stay for 2 nights... Yercaud ghat section through Salem having many scenic spots & road also very good with 20 hair pin curves...

After checking in at Happy nest home stay, headed towards rose garden ( entry 20/-) & then children seat, ladies seat, gents seat which are view points located adjacent...
Evening was foggy & couldn't see much views but we enjoyed the weather a lot with cofee / bajji from nearby shop...

Since it was a wedding annt day visited Shevoroy temple... Temple is seems like inside the cave& opens bit late( around 9:00)..
Very wide place with view points & shops can be best visited early morning or evening..

Karadiyoor view point:
One of the must visit place in Yercaud surrounding by hills... A short distance (500m) walk needs to reach the destination. Entry: 20/-

Yercaud Lake:
Situated near main junction & can spend some time for boating

Eco park & Anna park:
Can go around walk in these parks has entry fee 20/- & 15/-...

Pagoda point:
One more view point located near to City centre & good time to visit in the evening.. Snacks from local shop over cup of coffee will be perfect for free view..

For the dinner you can visit hotel grand palace & it's located at hill area which is perfect place for a dinner date..

Actual plan was to visit Mettur dam followed by malemahadwshwar temple located at Karnataka..

Mettur dam was built in 1934 for river cauvery..
It has big park area & can spend more time..
Dam completely not visible , but gates can be seen.. Entry : 5/-

After reaching Karnataka border , forest dept didn't allow to go Karnataka stating male mahadeshwara temple closed & road is not good..

We had to return back , stopped at a unknown destination due to wrong direction shown by Google map...
However place was very scenic with back water & fishing point...

By evening we returned back to Bengaluru after having some nice food at Saravanan Bhavan
