“We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves.”
- Dalai Lama
Visited the popular Dalai Lama monastery and this experience hold a special place in my heart. Situated in the heart of Himalayas, on top of it the weather here was beautiful (which actually stays lovely through the year) and the spiritual aura in the air just made the experience so magnificent. Place is filled with lot of Buddhist monks.. old, teenage, young monks.. wearing maroon robes and a soothing smile on their faces. I could suddenly feel a gush of happiness, calmness .. well I can not really explain that feeling but it surely explained what made these people leave the world behind and in the quest of what ! The answer was Peace. Randomly roaming and talking to these wonderful monks made me realise that there are millions of reasons to stay happy .. I fact the biggest of all is our existence in this universe. We should be thankful to each and every day we wake up for. All in all, I had a wonderful experience visiting the monastery and the lessons I learnt shall never be forgotten.

I’ve always been very fascinated by the churches but The Church of St. John In The Wilderness felt even more engrossing. As I walked in from the main gate, the graveyard on the left sent a shiver down my spine and that very moment I realised that the church was bathed in rich history. Well it is built-in new gothic architecture and the tall standing trees of deodar and beautiful flowers add even more beauty to this place. There are various information boards in the church which tell about the incidents that have taken place in this church. All in all I will say that there are just a very few places that move your soul ...and St. John Church is definitely one of them.
