We were lounging on the beach for 3 days and got bored of the routine when the owner of the resort suggested that we go for a boat ride to the Butterfly Island. It will take an hour or so and it will be something new to see and experience, the owner said. We decided to go and cut a deal with a local boatman for 2000 rupees for a couple and a kid.
The boat ride began and we met some dolphins on the way. One of them was lovingly called Sher Khan by the captain of that small motor boat. We reached Butterfly Island in about 40 minutes. It was this pristine, untouched and the cleanest beach that I had ever been on. If there is a coastal heaven. This must be it, I thought...
But the highlight of this ride was the Turtle Rock, that surprised us all. On our way back, the moment boat turned around, we saw a head coming out of a rock as if a big turtle was greeting us. But of course, it was just an illusion.
