Half day trip to Grand Island in Goa

Goa is a Majestic place and can be rightly called as “Heaven on Earth” if you are a travel enthusiast. No matter if you are with your love, your family or friends, Goa has something for everyone and no wonder why it is the most preferred tourist destination not only in India but across the world.

I happened to be at Goa last week with six of my old college friends. We all decided to meet after a long time and the destination was none other than, Goa. One similarity between all 7 of us which obviously made us friends was that we all have a thing for adventure sports. Whether it is rock climbing, snorkeling, Scuba Diving or river rafting, we all are adventure sports Enthusiasts. We all wanted to start with water sports and decided to explore this amazing place called the Grand Island. I will divide my review into categories so that you can follow easily and make the most of this trip

Grand Island- The Place

Grand Island which is also known as the Bat Island is one of the best locations in Goa if you are a water sports lover. The only way to reach this place is by sailing through a boat and believe me, the journey is as beautiful as the destination. This exotic place has everything to offer be it drinks, food or eye-catching natural beauty. You will most definitely be taking some beautiful memories from this place which you will cherish for life.

Diving Experience

We had a free transportation (pick and drop) from the hotelt and when we reached the destination, we all were super excited for the diving experience. Three of my friends knew swimming and 4 of us didn't. They just wanted to jump into the crystal clear blue water but the instructors were very particular about it and told us not to hurry as they cared utmost for our safety. They are through professionals and expert in their job.

We decided to wait for the instructions and I was quite excited and nervous at the same time knowing the fact that I didn't know how to swim. The company provides you with all the equipment required and the best thing is that you will be given a proper training in a swimming pool before you dive into the sea. When I went through the training, all my nervousness went away as it was a 40 minute long session explaining everything from security to signs used under water. As soon as you dive in, you will be in a different world altogether and experience the most beautiful marine life which must have only seen in the pictures and internet till now. Clear water, marine plants and some of the most beautiful fishes will leave you awestruck.

Cost involved

The most important thing that comes to anybody’s mind before planning a trip is the cost. Guys, let me tell you that this is the most affordable plan you can make and they give discounts as well if you have more people in your group. We got the whole package at just 3800 per person and got a discount since we were 7 members. This amount was total worth as we got a 40 minute of training by the professionals which helped me alot as I dove into the sea for the first time in my life.

My Review

This trip i must say is the most memorable trip of my life and I brought back some wonderful memories back home. The life jacket and the training they provided, gave this non-swimmer, enough confidence to dive not just into a swimming pool but into the sea. During the sail back from the island, we were given exotic and delicious sea foods which had Goan cuisines as well as drinks.
