It is so strange that we try to find solace in certain pre-defined place and start exploring other spots only when there's no choice. Before the pandemic, most of us used to think that only places like Chikkamangaluru, Meghalaya, Kerala, etc., have the charm of the nature.
Then happened the pandemic that changed entire perspective and opened our eyes to the nature that's always been with us. Be honest, how many of you have admired the beauty of the sky whilst walking on the terrace of your house during the pandemic?
While realizing this, I found what I consider as an off-beat place in Nellore - the Kandaleru Reservoir. This was an impromptu plan on a Sunday afternoon and the weather outside enticed us. We started at 2.30 pm and came back by 5pm. It took us an hour approximately to reach the destination.
Trust me, for a second, I forgot we were in Nellore as we approached the destination. The landscape morphed into a hill station, all the while the weather complimenting it. Another aspect was that there was hardly anyone at the destination, so it was safe as well.
However, mind you, the roads are terrible near the destination, but I guess the destination makes it worth the trouble. Also, on my way back, I noticed litter thrown on either side of the road. It was practically a garbage spot. Luckily, this space lays away from the destination, thankfully saving the beauty of the reservoir.
This brief trip made our Sunday a perfect one. I would suggest this place for a nice old-school picnic but ensure to not spoil the beauty of this place. Places like these prove that nature is a gem that no can own but everyone can enjoy!
