We started from Howrah through Bardhaman main train for Bendal to see the famous Portuguese church of 1599. It took around 40-45 mins to reach there. From the stn we went directly to the church and the church was really awesome. It is a big church with so many sculptures and paintings. The prayer hall is big and beautiful where photography is prohibited. From the terrace the hoogly river can be seen where u can go for boating. From there we went to Hangseswari temple which is beside the Rajbari. The Rajbari is in degrading position and u can't see much as people r living there. The Hangseswari temple is built in a unique design and the dirty is Goddess Kali. Along with this temple there is Basudeb temple where diety is Lord Vasudev which is of totally terracota work. Thereafter we went to hoogly bank and in the middle of the river there is a small island which is very beautiful. Except all these things there is a home of writer Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay which was closed in the evening so we could not visit. After all these we started for howrah at 7 pm from Bendel stn.
