In India, the most spoken about beaches are namely Baga, Palolem, Gokarna, Varkala, and Pondicherry.

Only Pondicherry and marine drive in Chennai has taken all attention of the beach lovers till date.

But, one more Eastern state also houses a few pristine and untouched beaches on its vicinity.

Yes, we are talking about Andhra Pradesh, which has about 974 kms of coast line and comes right after Gujrat in terms of length.

Here are few beaches listed that needs a must visit for your next beach vacation.

Rishikonda Beach:

This prime attraction in the vicinity of Vizag has a golden sand set up just like beaches in Sri Lanka or Australia. The waves are peaceful and calm here making this a best beach for swimming and hence attracts people from all ages.

This beach is also a most sought spot for playing Holi, when the entire beach stretch gets converted to a ground of colours. Also famous for couples to hang out, this place is also a good place to enjoy with your family.

Water skiing, speed boating, sunbathing, wind surfing and swimming.

How to reach:

15 kms from Vishakhapatnam railway station. And 23 kms from Vizag Airport.

Best time to visit:

August to October and January to March.

Yarada Beach:-

A much non-commercialized version of Rama Krishna beach in Vizag, this beach is known for the exotic landscapes on one side and golden sandy beach on the other side. When it comes to experience beaches in Andhra, you should never miss visiting this beach in Vishakhapatnam. At a distance of 14 Kms from Vizag Railway Station, it is a calm and peaceful beach in the vicinity of Vizag. One has to climb a mountain and then descend all the way down to reach this splendid piece of Bay of Bengal.

Attractions:

An ideal spot for family outing and picnic.

How to reach:

18 kms from Vishakhapatnam railway station and 24 kms from Vizag Airport.

Best time to visit:

August to October and January to March.

Bheemili beach:

This beach is also called as Bheemunipatnam beach. One of the primitive beaches of Vizag, this beach is away from the hustle and bustle of Vizag city and is a must for peace lovers. An early morning or evening will give you the best time on beach and also mangrove forests of palms gives a soothing effect to the eyes. Here at one end the river gosthani meets the sea and is a sight not to be missed. The boat ride is also available on the waters of river here.

Attractions:

A Dutch settlement of fort from 17th century and also a cemetery. The best for a weekend getaway from Vizag and also for sunrise.

How to reach:

45 kms from Vishakhapatnam railway station and 40 kms from Vizag Airport.

Best time to visit:

August to October and January to March.

Kalingapatnam Beach:

Stretching for 17 kms in length, this is the first beach from North side in Andhra Pradesh and also one of the ancient harbor towns in the state. As per history, perfumes and textiles were exported to other countries through this port. There is an attractive light house built by British here. River named Vamsadhaara also empties into the sea here. Beach festival is also celebrated every year here.

Attractions:

There is an open road which ends to the sea bed and hence the sea is also named as Open road sea.

How to reach:

30 kms from Srikakulam, district headquarters. The nearest Airport is Vizag, which is 108 kms away.

Best time to visit:

October and November.

Mypadu beach:

This regional beach is 25 kms away from the Nellore main city. This beach also sees a lot of fishing and cruises sailing through by government. It also attracts people around for a great sunrise. The beach is much secluded and comparatively tourists are less here and would for sure loose its seclusion early.

Attractions:

Water sports like jet skis and aquatic motorbikes are main here.

How to reach:

The buses do ply from Nellore on all times of a day, and the distance is 23 kms. The nearest airport is in Tirupati, which is 135 kms away.

Best time to visit:

Months from October to January.

Machalipatnam Beach:

Also called as Manginapudi beach, this is situated 15 kms away from the historic port city Machalipatnam. The golden beachfront spans long miles and always remains abuzz with tourists and locals seeking lovely moments. During the holy Hindu month of Kartik, visitors throng to the beach for Samudra Snanam (bathing in the sea water) to purify their bodies as part of the customary rites.

A giant Hanuman statue is another star attraction here.

How to reach:

The two railway stations are Machalipatnam and Chilakalapudi railway station. The nearest airport is Gannavaram airport, which is 70 kms away.

Best time to visit:

October to March.

Uppada beach:

Uppada Beach also called as Kakinada Beach offers a relaxed and rejuvenating ambience to enjoy the sun kissed sand and water. The wide shore is a major attraction of this beach. The clear water, the silver sand and the golden sun gifts the beach with a majestic beauty. If lucky one could get an experience of going along with the local fishermen for deep water fishing.

Attractions:

Uppada, a village which is known for weaving is also a very popular fishery station which is famous for prawns.

How to reach:

Nearest railway station is Kakinada railway station which is 1.5 kms away and the nearest airport is Rajhmundry airport, which is 65 kms away.

Best time to visit:

October to March.
