Have you ever wondered why the internet is filled with yogis posing for their travel photos? What is it with the yogis and traveling?
Here are the 6 reasons why we love to travel. We pack our yoga mats and bags to discover new possibilities, new people, and new traditions.
1. We Love To Challenge Ourselves Mentally
Travelling needs a great amount of mental strength. When you get it a different land, you are falling witness to a wide range of new customs, languages, rules and attitudes. Adapting to new things might be a brain taxing, but we (Yogis) are used to this.
2. We Love To Savor Our “ME” Time
Many people fear “SOLO TRIPS” as they rely on themselves and spend time alone. But this is not for yogis, we are accustomed to turning inward and inquire things of our self. In practicing yoga, we start to enhance our comfort dealing only ourselves. This comes useful while traveling solo, and you get yourself exploring, mountain tops, city streets and cafes all on your own.
3. We Crave To See Different Walks Of Life
Yogis practice the idea that all is linked. The first sutra is all about giving us great inspiration for craving the various walks of life. This helps to recognize that the other person is you. This mindset becomes a known factor when we are traveling, and learning to appreciate and enjoy the varied cultures and traditions.
4. We Savor In Testing Our Limits
Traveling opens up a wider state of new challenges. From hiking to navigating flights and city streets is not an easy feat, mostly when interacting in a foreign language. We, Yogi, work hard to “find our edge”, which means we love to go beyond our comfort zone while still maintaining the sustainable actions. By using this mindset to travel, we enable ourselves to explore how much we are capable of. Many times, it is more than we think possible.
5. We Love Small Things Which Make Us Happy
Whether is a hot meal, an ocean or a rain, there are specific things that makes the struggle to travel worth it. We can accentuate with this feeling; we enjoy our yoga sessions playing with all small things, whether it’s our finger space or our naval power. We love to take things granted in yoga, and this viewpoint extends into our adventures.
6. We Love To Nourish Our Souls And Learn
We consider traveling a new form of education. We love to learn new rituals and taste palatable foods. We love to hear real life stories from a diverse human group. We dedicate ourselves to hit the mat many times a week in order to know yoga completely. Our biggest motivations are the desire to relax and sense ourselves. We do care ourselves, which is not a trend, but rather a needed technique to make sure that we can operate to the best of our ability.
Both Yoga and traveling allow us to boost and nurture our soul, making us stronger, compassionate and kind.
