1.Dhankar Village
Dhankar Village used to be the capital of the Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh. It is at an altitude of 3,894 metres, between the towns of Tabo and Kaza, Himachal Pradesh. Dhang or dang means cliff, and kar or khar means fort. Hence Dhangkar means fort on a cliff. There a an old monastery and a beautiful lake in Dhankar. Lake is not visible in video as it is on a 1 hour hike from the village.
2. Langza Village
Nestled between the mountains in a bowl shaped area in the Spiti Valley is a small remote village named Langza. This village is situated at an altitude of 14,500 feet above sea level. Langza is also considered to be one of the highest villages in the world with a motorable road.
3. Tabo Village
Tabo is a small town in the Lahaul and Spiti district on the banks of the Spiti River in Himachal Pradesh. The town lies on the road between Rekong Peo and Kaza, the sub-divisional headquarters of Spiti. The town surrounds a Buddhist monastery which, according to legend, is said to be over a thousand years old.
4. Kibber Village
Kibber is a village high in the Spiti Valley in the Himalayas at 4270 meters in Himachal Pradesh in northern India. It contains a monastery and the Kibber Wildlife Sanctuary. An adventourous place here is to experience chicham kibber ropeway. It is a ropeway above 800ft. deep gorge.
5. Key Monastery
Kye Gompa is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery located on top of a hill at an altitude of 4,166 meters above sea level, close to the Spiti River.
6. Chandrataal
Chandra Taal is situated at an altitude of about 4,300 metres in the Himalayas. Mountains of scree overlook the lake on one side, and a magnificent cirque presents a view on the other.
7. Moorang
It was an off season for us at PixelDo.Com as we can’t fly drones during the monsoons. Apart from that the visibility is not very good and we can’t shoot such images for commercial projects. So we thought of utilizing this time by planning a road trip from Mumbai to Spiti Valley in Himachal Pradesh. We decided to shoot aerial videos at various places and bring it to you to enjoy these exceptional views.
This is a series of video we shot in various villages of Spiti Valley. Each landscapes is unique there. These are aerial zoomout videos which will show you the scale and the beauty of those remote places which you might want to visit on your next road trip.
We travelled for 40 days from 20th june to 30th july and spent around INR 1.02 lakh. We travelled overall 6800KMs in those 40 days.
