Mussorie is 80 km from Rishikesh. It is ideal for someone who have never rode in mountains. The distance is small, the view is scenic and one can get accustomed to the mountains.

Stay for a night in Mussorie and explore the night life. Visit the mall road and local markets.
Go to Dhanolti on the next day. It is good 30 km from the Mussorie. You can found the snow there.

2. Lansdowne
Lansdowne is almost 100 km from Rishikesh. It is named after Lord Landsdowne.
The War Memorial, at the Parade Ground of the Garhwal Rifles Center, is an attraction for the visitors. However, prior permission from the military authority has to be taken.

Places of interest around the city include Tip n Top View Point, Kaleshwar Mahadev Temple, Santoshi Mata Temple, Regimental Museum (also called the Darwan Singh Sanghralaya), Bhullatal Lake, St. Mary's Church, and Lover's lane.
The old cemetery in Kitchner Lines is one of the more mysterious places and some even call it one of the most haunted places in lansdowne.
4. Auli
Auli is 222 km from Rishikesh. The road is one of the most dangerous roads in India.
Auli is famous for its ski resort. Its slopes are good for both professional and amateur skiers.

The Hindu pilgrim site Kedarnath is very near to Auli. So, a visit to Auli can serve the two purposes.
Further, one can also visit the last Indian village Mana, which is very near to the Indo-Tibetan border.
5. Munsiyari
Munsiyari is 400 km from Rishikesh. Apart from the serene town, one can visit the Khuliya top trek for a scenic view of the Himalayan peaks.
