3 facts about trekking:
1. It is always farther than it looks; 2. It is always higher than it looks AND 3. It is always tougher than it looks.
I couldn't agree more. I realized these facts earlier during my first trek but it didn't occur to me then, as I was naive enough to think of it to be a begginers issue. But these hurdles are as old as time itself faced by all, be it an ameture or a pro!
It was our last day of trekking, the last camp being exactly beside a road, the camp leader asked us whether anyone would like to check out and go to the village Prini by vehicle where we were supposed to trek and then take a bus to our base camp 🏕 if not checked out. But no! We wanted to trek. And the Leader happily announced that we were the first batch to trek all the way to the village. It kind of made us all proud of ourselves
Little did we know that it would take us an eternity to even reach the lunch point, the last day of the trek being all on the roads, which lead us to the village it wasn't a piece of cake as we'd thought.
Now coming to the funny part:
we ran out of water halfway into the trek to the lunch point. The only fluids we had with us was frooti, provided to us by YHAI people. Of course everyone had saved some except me.That's the worst part or the pushiment for not saving up your fluids for you would never know when you'll need them .
Hence; my suggestion is to always save your food and fluids.
P.S: Don't worry, I got water at our lunch point 😁
