Situated in the Thiruvananthapuram district, Varkala is Kerala's answer to Goa. Beautiful cliffs, colourful sunsets and hippie vibes - it is a must visit beach in southern India. If you happen to visit Varkala, Kappil Beach can be a great option in your local sightseeing.
Take a two-wheeler or an auto, to head to Kappil beach just 6.9km away. The ride to Kappil Beach is pleasing and you end up visiting a beach only known to the locals.
While this little quaint place is not about experiencing the best beach, but if you want a breather and enjoy a nice ride, this is an easily accessible place.
The ever absent crowd and presence of a beautiful pond hidden in a forest just opposite the beach, adds to the overall vibe of the place. Spend some time by the beach or the pond, and have some quiet time to yourself.
Just a couple of hours dedicated to this place, and you will feel that your time is utilised well. If you happen to be there during the monsoon season, the cloudscape can be enchanting.
This place due to the presence of beach on one side and the waterbody on the side is quite suitable for photography and shoots.
