So I chose this title, because I have been to Ganpatipule many times...Twice with family, once solo and now with my hubby...and everytime experience has been different.
Though it's a small place to just chill and do nothing which i had done almost everytime but this time was a mix of resting, exploring the nearby place which was fun.
On the eve of diwali ie. 26th Oct 2019 early morning our journey started. We took the 5.50 am Jan Shatabdi train from Thane station which i feel is the best as you will reach Ratnagiri station by 11am and Ganpatipule which is around an hour journey from there. There is 3 types of transport ranging from the cheapest ie.bus but for that u have to walk for 10 -15 mins , auto will take around Rs 600 but we were lucky to get it for Rs400 and he also showed us the fish aquarium on the way..and the last is to rent a car which would cost around Rs 1000-Rs 1500.
We had booked online MTDC beach resort which costed us around Rs.5700 delux superAc for 2 days.
The room was spacious with a beach facing balcony. The property is huge with greenery everywhere, a restaurant which serves all types of cuisine. My favourite is Gadabad which is a type of fruit salad served in a glass with fruits icecream nuts..but this time due to rains they didn't have stock of fruits..so sadly didn't get it..
This place is just opp to the famous and religious ganpati temple which is about 500yrs old.
As we reached Ratnagiri, and took a auto while on our way it started raining heavily which made the climate so pleasant that our 2days stay became more beautiful and romantic.
As it was raining so the 1st day was mostly indoors, only in the evening visited the temple..Because of the rains there was not many people and infact this was the 1st time I saw empty lanes, temple which made me more happier as i just hate crowd..
2nd day was refreshing, with clear skies but not sunny.so perfect weather to go out and thats what we did..We rented a activa from Centre Point residency for Rs 600 with 3litres of petrol extra and we went with the wind..1st stop was Jaigad fort which is around 35mins from Ganpatipule..The roads are awesome though on the way few bumps due to rains but worth a ride..Half the way I rode the bike and i really enjoyed..A lot of info is there in Google about the fort.
From there we went to Arey Warey beach..strolled on the beach..and returned our resort and played in Ganpatipule beach..In the evening we had Prasad in the temple which is a must have.Timing is. 7.15pm -8.15pm; they serve yummy pulav and sheera..
At 8pm we had an appointment with the ayurvedic massage centre in MTDC which is a 90mins therapy makes you really relaxed and stress free.a good deal for just Rs. 1000..This is how our 2nd day ended.
This day was just going to the temple buying ladoos, having a good breakfast in the eateries nearby the temple. and one can buy local items like jams, juices, aamras etc.
Our return train was at 13.30pm Mandovi Express which was around an hour late. So left at 12pm and reach station around 1.15pm.
We left with lot of lovely memories and more to come with a new destination.
Our total expense for 3days -2nights was around Rs 14000 for 2ppl which can be much lesser as per your requirement.
