We were staying at the JW Marriott Resort and Hotel at Mai Khao Beach. One of the best parts about this resort was that it had its very own private beach for its guests. And a beach-side deck to enjoy a drink while gazing over the ocean.

The welcome at the hotel was ofcourse fabulous. We were treated to an assortment of local fruits and chocolates. I personally really like the chocolates.

The hotel pool visible from right outside our room. From the other side you could see the beach. The most fun thing I saw happening in this pool were kids Zorbing. Sadly only children were allowed to do that!

Day 2

While in Phuket, make sure you visit Phuket FantaSea. It is a cultural show ,complete with trapeze artists and animals. It is truly a unique experience.

The show is displayed in a theme park. So be sure to go there well before time and check out the various installations and carnival games. You will know when the show is about to start, because the main theatre will light up like this, and you can hear gongs throughout the park.

The show is also preceded by a full Asian buffet dinner held at the Golden Kinnaree. Even the buffet hall was magnificent.

Day 3

The Karon viewpoint or the Kata viewpoint is located on a hilltop and provides a beautiful view of three beaches together. From here you can get a panoramic view of the ocean and the beaches of Kata, Kata Noi and Karon.

Next you can visit Wat Chalong, a prominent Buddhist temple in the city. It potrays statues of the previous monks of the temple. The temple also has a hall containing multiple Buddha statues in different positions of meditation and rest.

Phuket has over 30 beaches to choose from. Some are popular and closer to the city centres while some are more secluded but harder to access. The most popular beach is Patong Beach due to its proximity to the town. Kata is well known among surfers and is a lot less crowded.

Honestly, it doesn't matter what beach you choose to visit. All the beaches are beautiful with clear waters and sandy shores. In the end - all you need to do is dip your feet in the water and feel your worries fading! Atleast it worked for me.
