Planning a trip to Thailand soon? Make sure the island of Krabi is on your list!

Beach lovers usually plan a trip to Thailand and debate between Ko Samui and Phuket. Why? Because it’s the most sought after destinations and easy to get to from India. This year, take the unusual route and travel to Krabi – an island down south. Facing the Andaman Sea, the most preferred mode of transport is the long-tail boat.

Where to go?

An old favourite is the beautiful Rayavadee Resort nestled between Phranang and Railay Beach. Their most famous restaurant - The Grotto - is situated in an old limestone cave overlooking the pristine waters. The setting is truly luxurious and this is the perfect place to enjoy the sunset or simply spend a relaxing afternoon sipping cocktails. The ambience is great and gets darker as you ask for a table further inside the cave! Inside the hundred year old cave, dining is truly an experience.

What to order?

Make an advanced booking and order the seafood barbecue. It is prepared for you on the open sands with the best freshly caught seafood of the day. The dishes are created using the local ingredients and hence their desserts taste divine as they are made with exotic Thai fruits that are in season. I'd recommend the Phad Thai Goong Lai Suea (670 Baht) that is wok-fried rice noodles with king prawns and the Organic Mixed Greens Salad (360 Baht). One can browse their scrumptious menu here.
