A country like Thailand has two aspects to tourism- 1) The blue calm sea 2) The busy city life . Well, I am sharing my experience in both the cases.
Let me tell you guys, please do not visit Thailand during summers, it burns!! The guides during my trip mentioned that the best time to visit Thailand is from January to April.
I boarded my flight from Lokpriya Gopinath Bardalai International Airport, Guwahati to Don- Muaeng International Airport , Bangkok. The round trip flights cost me approx. 19000 rupees.
I landed in Don-Muaeng airport at 3:30am (ICT) and reached hotel at 6am(ICT). I paid a bit extra to check-in early , as I wanted to rest and feel fresh and energetic for rest of the day. I rented a taxi from the hotel itself which cost me 2000 BAHT for the day, which is expensive and was a big mistake on my part. But on the bright side, it was 48 degree Celsius, and the expensive part helped me tolerate the heat and make the most out of the day. I visited the Grand Palace, Wat Pho, Sea World and Madam Tussauds Museum. Booking tickets in advance are advised. Please guys, do not listen to Tuk- Tuk drivers or try to get into one. They can scam you to a very bad extent. Grab taxi app is the best means of commute throughout Thailand. It is cheap and always has offers. Air conditioning is also a plus.
On 21st, I boarded a flight to Krabi International Airport from Don- Muaeng International airport and then took a Grab taxi to Ao-Nang, where my hotel was. The ticket was approx. 3000 rupees. I was delighted to be greeted with the rain, which made rest of the trip , fairly comfortable. In the evening I visited the nearby market , ate some local food, watched some fire stunts and shopped. Next day, I was ready by 1:30 pm for my day trip to 7 islands, which as due a 2pm. I had pick-up & drop of facility and booked a long- tail boat for 1380 BAHT, which included BBQ dinner and snorkeling. Booking 4 island tour is a better deal as the 3 other islands are very tiny and not counted as islands. There are speed boats and private cruises available too. There are no clubs, loud music or noisy water sports allowed in Ao Nang. Its the beautiful blue water, surrounded by cliffs.
On 23rd, I took a taxi to Phuket that cost me 2000 BAHT and took me 3.5 hours to reach. Easiest and fastest way to reach Phuket from Ao Nang is via a speedboat, but it was stormy, hence, I chose to go by road. Well, now, Phuket is a party place. I stayed 15 mins away from Patong Beach which is the most crowded part of Phuket. If you like to party but get back to a quiet place, then Karon Beach is the location. I freshened up, took a walk around Patong Beach, ate some fresh fish , then walked around Bangla market and got back to the hotel. Next day morning , I booked a van trip that took me around Phuket. I saw the Big Buddha , Chalong temple, Cashew Factory, Old Market and few view points. It cost me about 800 BAHT.
On 25th, I flew back to Bangkok from Phuket , which cost around 3000 rupees . I went to Chatuchak market, China market and Siam Paragon mall. It was an evening of food and shopping.
On 26th, I flew back to Guwahati from Bangkok.
