Day 1

Statue of Unity is the highest manmade statue (600 ft) on Earth. Fortunately government has developed the whole vicinity in a way that you can easily stay here for more siteseeing and events.
We were 7 people so we booked a cab from Vadodara which took only 2 hrs to reach there. We had brunch before leaving so we could directly go there.
There are 3 parking spaces they have created where you can leave your car. It was very crowdy that weekend, so we had to leave our car in the 3rd parking. But they have arranged bus system to get all the tourists safely to the statue. It was very long line but still took us only 30 mins as the bus frequency is very high. You don't need to buy ticket if you booked the tickets from their online portal. It costs 400 Rs/ adult.
The bus took us to the statue where we had to go through security check. It's a huge area so you better wear shoes. I will recommend shades and a scarf too as the weather is always sunny in summers. Once you pass the security check there's a long walk you need to take to reach the statue building. They have escalators so no worries though. And if you have elderly with yoj just like we did, they have wheelchairs as well. Once you reach the building, you face a small line for the elevator, the security makes groups of people to board the huge elevator. Please don't jump or do any mischief in the elevator as it is very dangerous. Gujjus may do it on purpose though just like a guy in my elevator did. The worst part is his family even if educated started yelling at me for stopping him.
Anyways, once you reach safely to the balcony of the statue, you will see the beautiful site of Narmada from both sides. The view is breathtaking.
You need to reach before 3.30 pm to catch the elevator as they close the gates by 4.30 pm.
You can visit the small exhibition at the bottom of the statue. They also have projector shows going on all time.
Once we were done with the visit, we came out for a little snack at the restaurant near the statue. Huge capacity yet too much crowdy.
Food was great though.
We left by 6pm to the bus stop where people do create a chaos trying to cut the line. It's not normal across India but Gujraat showed us real bad colors. Whatever you have heard about Gujrat, please remember that it's not very welcoming and elegant state. People will try to fight with you over petty reasons.
Yet, the Statue of unity is one of the must visits. They have events in the evening at the venue. We couldn't stay here this time, but next time I am definitely gonna stay.
