This off-the-beaten-path adventure promises an encounter with untouched beauty as we embarked on a trek to this serene oasis.
The Limber Wildlife Sanctuary: How to Reach?
As we entered the Limber Wildlife Sanctuary, a sense of anticipation enveloped us. The sanctuary is a haven for a diverse range of flora and fauna, offering a unique encounter with nature's wonders. A symphony of chirping birds and rustling leaves welcomed us as we began our trek. It's approximately 75 kilometers from Srinagar, and the journey takes around 2 hours.
The Trekking Trail: A Less-Traveled Path
Our journey to Limber Waterfall began along a winding trail that led us through dense forests and meandering streams. The trail was a mix of challenges and delights, demanding both physical exertion and an open heart to absorb the beauty around us. We crossed wooden bridges, tread through wildflower-strewn meadows, and navigated rocky paths, with each step bringing us closer to the coveted waterfall.
Unveiling the Limber Waterfall: Nature's Hidden Masterpiece
As we approached the Limber Waterfall, the distant murmur of cascading water gradually grew louder. And then, there it was – a sight that words could hardly do justice to. Limber Waterfall emerged majestically, a curtain of crystalline water gracefully descending amidst lush greenery. The cool mist from the waterfall kissed our skin, and the sound of rushing water created a soothing symphony that resonated within us.
Things to Do:
Apart from this waterfall, this wildlife sanctuary is home to the Markhor (wild goat), a rare species found only here in India.
There are some other waterfalls nearby that can be trekked, and on top of this mountain, there is a huge meadow called Vij Top that can also be explored here.
Being a wildlife sanctuary, this place is full of flora and fauna that will leave you in awe of nature’s creations.
My trek to this Waterfall in the Limber Wildlife Sanctuary was more than just a physical adventure; it was a journey of the heart and soul.
