Rameshwaram Teerth

Amongst 12 Jyotirlinga, Rameshvaram is a one. To reach Rameshvaram nearest Airport is chennai. By road it is also connected. TNSRTC  buses are there from various location of Tamilnadu state. Majorly from Coimbatore, Kanyakumari, Chennai, Madurai, Trichy bus services are good.

Me and my friend reached by state transport bus from Coimbatore, Gandhipuram to Rameshwaram. Bus fare was 420rs per person. It took us almost 9hrs. We took 09.30pm bus from Coimbatore and we reached next morning by 6.30am to Rameshwaram. After reaching there we stayed in local lodge. There are many local lodges are there. The lodge prices are from 500 rs to 900rs. Good hotels are very less and their prices are also very high.

After getting fresh n up we gone for shiva darshan. But before coming here my friends office colleague told him before going the shiva darshan we should take 22 kund snan. So we started to searching this. So to take 22 kund snan one has to come inside the temple from North gate. It is near from this gate.

There is 25rs charge per person for taking the snan. But after seeing there we got the exact idea of snan. Only the temple employee can extract the water from the kund and pour it on devotees. No one can directly do this. So we did the snan at all 22 kund. After taking the holy bath, everyone needs to change their wet clothes and then only they can go inside. Half pants and western clothes are not allowed for taking the darshan.

That day there was not so much rush. We took only 30-40 minutes for taking the darshan. Inside temple there is lots of other temples. One should visit all. By 12pm we got free and came back to hotel.
