RoadTrip #01: Ooty-Coonoor-Kodaikanal 2016

Day1: Plan was to start early morning at 4 AM to avoid the Bangalore traffic but as always it never goes according to the plan. With all the delays we started our journey at 5.30 AM and went on towards Mysore road. Our third musketeer joined us enroute and it was the 3 musketeers on those lovely beasts heading out for a casual ride of about 1200kms over 3 days (yes, we're crazy about bikes and we ride alot). Cruising on a Harley, RC390 & a TB350 we reached Mysore around 7 ish and headed towards Ooty. Stopped for breakfast just before Nanjanagud and after that rushed to visit Gopalaswamy betta (hills) after Gundlupet. We were disappointed after reaching the foot of the hills as we came to know that they were not allowing any private vehicles as the roads are very narrow without any barriers and you'll have to board a bus from there. We weren't ready to get off our bikes so took a U-turn from there and headed to ooty directly. After entering the Bandipur forest, all you can do is enjoy the nature at its best coz you'll be welcomed by wildlife and Flora through the entire stretch but very painful for riders & drivers as this stretch has humps for almost every 300-500 meters.

Day2: After a sound sleep and a lazy breakfast, we started from Coonoor and the destination was Kodaikanal. Total journey was about 300 kms but it turned out to be a lot more as we were lost in between despite having GPS stuff :D. We're riding till 8 in the night foolishly laughing at each other every time we missed the route and enjoying the pleasure of discovering some new route. And obviously stop for all those profile pics & selfie enroute.

Day3: This one turned out to be a lot more hectic than we thought it would be. Plan was to reach Dindigul (NH7) around 1PM and wrap up before it gets dark but in a road trip, things never go according to the plan. Moreover what's the fun if we play by rules, it's crazy to see how things unfold different from the routine plan. We reached Dindigul only by 2.30 or so and stopped for lunch. From here on it was a struggle literally coz there were people all over the NH and some maniacs driving in the opposite lane. I was awestruck when I saw a ambassador coming right onto me in the middle lane!! Seriously?? If you don't wanna live then why risk others lives, such brainless idiots. One XUV guy had to literally screech his tyres when a cyclist came onto the highway from nowhere. Please drive carefully on these roads. Finally the touchdown was around 9 PM in the night as the other riders had difficulty riding in low light without visors!!All in all a memorable road trip that will be remembered a long way down the memory lane!!
