Ooty known as the queen of hill stations, is best visited during the months of may- august when there are less crowd and you can find things for low price.
I started by journey from Delhi to Coimbatore by Indigo with a halt in Kochi. The flight costed me 6k and i took a cab from Coimbatore to Ooty that costed me only 1800 INR. Thanks to @makemytrip.com fro making my journey so easy even at 11 in the night. You can come to ooty from Bangalore as well.
I booked Treebo Yantra leisures, a heritage hotel and it was the best choice I have made. They gave me a deluxe heritage room and the room was from the British era, well decorated and maintained.
The hotel is situated outside the main town on a hill and provides you the best view from their common space. The staffs were generous and provided me the best advice to visit around.
I took their sight seeing cab for 1500 INR which first look me to ooty lake just beside the rose botanical garden.
After that we moved towards the Highest point of South India," Doddabetta Peak". The journey through Nilgiri forest was amazing and one of the experience with fog all covered was a lifetime feel. Once you reach the peak you have to take a entry ticket of INR 10 and enter the premise. The area have a view point and the place have a park where you can sit on rocks and enjoy the clouds linger your face. The place had a breath taking view and a place where I can sit for hours and meditate.
After spending 1-2 hour over there I went down and my driver parked the car on halfway of the road and took me inside the forest and this is something you dont experience everyday. I felt I was in the shoot of Krissh.
After almost 2 hours we headed to the Nilgiri Tea plant and from there to have a lunch at a local restaurant situated in the town. The food was mid range as it was a tourist place as they charged me 370 INR for 1 chicken butter masala, 1 fish fry, 3 rumali roti.
On day 2 set up myself again for the same sight seeing person for 2ooo INR for taking me to upper Bhawani lake , Emerald lake and Avalanche lake. From there we went to coonor and the journey to coonor was an unforgettable one for me.
Never forget to have a coffee on the way when you visit coonor from Ooty, the coffee at the shop called "ammas coffee".
I did set for the day with an amazing cup of Lemon tea in the main bazaar and a great dinner meal from the Hotel.
With my last day in ooty I explored some local foods and market and a bought a great bag of tea. I concluded my journey by evening as I took a cab back from Ooty to Bangalore and it costed me a massive amount on 3000 INR.
That's all for the OOty trip. Happy travelling.
