Thanks to the Google photos that took me all the way back to our very first college trip so that i could re-live all those wonderful moments.
Ooty isn't called queen of hills for no reason.
I don't know about you but to us it literally felt like Paradise after our very wearing MBBS exams.
Best option for getting around in ooty is to rent a bike, and so we did the same. But we forgot to check the condition of the bikes while we were in city which indeed brought us into some unexpectedly funny but dangerous situations like when we were trying to go uphill we were actually going downhill despite fully accelerating the bikes. Because that bike neither had any power nor optimally working brakes.
let all the incidents put aside and begin with the trip itself
On our first day we just spent our day roaming in street and in the evening we went to witness the very popular Ooty Lake and did nothing but boating for about an hour under nice dusky pink sky and that was absolute beauty. After boating we planned to have piping hot Nilgiri tea with Maggi at a cafeteria near the lake.
On our day 2 we headed towards the Highest peak Of Nilgiris 'Doddabetta Peak' . The route to Doddabetta was so pleasing but the View at Doddabetta was Just marvellous Ooty looks so beautiful and eye catching from up there.
On Day 3 We planned to go to Catherine Waterfall.
We had full faith in Google maps so we went where google lead us to but unfortunately google maps failed us at last and when we reached the final destination waterfall was nowhere to be found but we weren't disappointed even a little ,because the place where we reached believing in Google was a sight for sore eyes.
Our Next day was quite long because we visited multiple places like Pine forest, Pykara lake and Needle Rock View point which were on the same route but quite far
Our Next destination was Avalanche Forest Reserve and we were very excited when we left but ultimately our excitement came to an end once we reached the half way, it was the one of the worst road to drive on but we kept going on thinking that maybe we'll get a nice road ahead. On our way we met a guy so thought we should ask him about the route but after his answer our disappointment was on higher level.
After a few kilometres we were in middle of a dense forest with zero network coverage so not even google could help us. But when we saw a caution sign board with "do not stop here, wild animals may appear" ,we were scared af. We even wanted to return but we couldn't because we didn't want to return empty handed so we kept moving forward.
We were relieved when we saw a direction board and entryway to Forest Reserve.
When we reached the forest reserve we were happy that we didn't return from half way as it was so beautiful and had quite a places like Avalanche lake, Cauliflower view point, Upper Bhawani lake which can only be accessed by taking a safari in the reserve.
Coonoor is a must visit place while you're in Ooty With beautiful lush green tea gardens.
On our 7th day we went to Masinagudi and Madumalai tiger Reserve which wasn't a much pleasing experience. But anyway we clicked some nice photos there
We spent our last day of Ooty Trip experiencing the Nilgiri Mountain Railways Which gives you best scenic views of the Nilgiris
