The best route is Bangalore –> Hosur –> Krishnagiri –> Dharmapuri –> Salem –> Yercaud.

There is an alternative route as well, however I am not too sure about it. This is the best and easiest route with excellent road conditions from Bangalore to Yercaud. Since this route takes a detour via Salem therefore it is a little longer than the other route. On a good day, the route to Yercaud from Salem offers you excellent views of the valley as well. Its very scenic and is a pleasure to drive along.

Here are the most popular places to visit in Yercaud that you must surely explore on a vacation:

Yercaud offers nice roads that offer you some great views of the valley. Go for an aimless drive from the town till the top of the Yercaud hill. Even if it is an off-season, driving amongst clouds/fog is fun on it’s own. The winding roads take you to almost all tourist spots (which are few, since this is a small hill station). Explore and get a feel of the place that you are about to spend a weekend.

Where To Stay In Yercaud?

We stayed at GRT Nature Trails Sky Rocca Yercaud. Make sure you opt for a room with a balcony at the top/mid floors that offers great views. The balconies are separated by walls made of bamboos! So you don’t have to worry about privacy.
