Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary is a must-visit place for all nature and wildlife enthusiasts. Located in the Palakkad district of Kerala, it is a paradise on earth for those who love to explore the wild side of nature. The sanctuary is situated around 90 km away from Coimbatore and can be reached only by 4-wheelers or government buses. Two-wheelers are not allowed due to safety reasons and are stopped near the Top slip entry check post.
We started by 4.30am from my native place called Dharmapuri located near salem district, Tamilnadu. On the way we had breakfast near pollachi & visited a famous temple called Masani amman. This temple is located at Anaimalai near Pollachi. It takes 1.30 hrs from Coimbatore to reach this temple.
From here the top slip entry check post is just 13kms. The entry ticket costs around Rs.50 per head, and the same for camera. No stoppages are allowed till the next check post.
Tips :
1. Pre-book your stay at Parambikulam.org. as it is the only site to book rooms at Parambikulam.
2.There are five types of stay available, and my recommendation for families would be Tented Niche, which costs around 3k per head. For boys, Peruvari Island Nest or Veettikunnu Island Nest can be an excellent option (not sure about the cost).
Note : Now the price has been revised.
3. Please carry sweaters, raincoats, shoes & binoculars even if it is winter/summer.
4.Best time to visit : Aug-Jan.
5.Only BSNL signals are available. My suggestion will be, don't recharge/buy a BSNL sim. Spend some quality time with your parents and capture the beautiful moments.

We opted for Tented Niche and were suggested to be there before 11:30 am.
What are all for 3k?
1. Stay from 12pm -10.30am (You can find so many peacocks here).
2.Unlimited Lunch,dinner & breakfast ( You can opt for veg/non-veg),
3.Trekking, Jungle safari, Sightseeing, Bamboo rafting & Tribal dance
4.It is the best place to be socially isolated.
Note: Not more than 150 people will be with you. What I meant is max 150 people will be inside the 600+sq.kms dense forest.

Lunch will be provided by 1 pm, and the safari will start by 2:30-3 pm. During the safari, you can witness Gaur, Elephants, Lion-tailed macaque, deers, and crocodiles. Thunakadavu dam and Kanimara teak can be seen between 4-5 pm, followed by bamboo rafting at Parambikulam Lake, which is the highlight of the trip.Watching the sunset from the lake with absolute silence and Ilaiyaraaja music playing in the background is a beautiful experience. The tribal dance performed by the native people between 6-7 pm is a must-watch, and dinner will be served between 8-9 pm.
On the second day, tea will be provided at 7 am, followed by a 3 km trek where the forest ranger will guide you. Mostly, you won't witness any wild animals except for deers, but you can enjoy bird watching, unreal tree structures, and beautiful flowers. Breakfast will be served at 9 am, and then you can check out and head back home.
Most of the wild animals were captured as videos which I couldn't upload here.
