The Land of Alps - Switzerland

''Bade bade deshon mein aaisi choti choti baatein ... hoti rehti hai''

We all have grown up with the dream to visit Switzerland.Dreams do come true and what better than visiting the *bada desh* finally.

So with an overnight journey from Erlangen,Germany via Frankfurt and with no plans we reached the beautiful city of Lucerne, Switzerland.

Day1 Lucerne:-

The tourist department of Switzerland Goverment in Lucerne Railway station was a great help as we came to know about the Silver round trip to Mt. Pilatus and bagged a complimentary day pass all in 75 Euro).

So, the beautiful journey started from Lucerne railway station to Alpanachstad by train. From there we boarded world's steepest cogwheel train to reach the Mt. Pilatus. The view through out the journey was breathtaking.

The panoramic view of Alps was mesmerising. You can just sit on the benches, relax and admire the gorgeous creation of the almighty.

After 2-3 hours it was the time to descend by two gondolas(cable car). The first one was a huge one where you will be with 15-20 people standing and gazing in awe followed by small personal gondolas .

After reaching back to the main station , we went around the Lucerne lake, and shopped for souvenirs and the famous swiss chocolates.

The day came to end with a stay at Lucerne through airbnb(30Euro).

Day2 Zurich:-

Early morning we left for Zurich via train. As,we learned from the previous day we got a day pass and a map from the Government's travel desk and started our journey with a boat ride on Lake Zurich.

To feel the essence of the city we then roamed around the beautiful city of Zurich along the lake(It's a 60 minute walk tour around the city centre). Beautiful churches, old architectures and an amazing city was Zurich for us.
